HITEKS has created a powerful methodology to improve health care provider reputation by focusing on each individual physician’s ability to document appropriate quality (e.g. Elixhauser chronic conditions, HCC) and reimbursement-related (CC/MCC/DRG models) conditions.

Gerry Petratos, MD, MS

CEO and Co-Founder

Dr. Gerry Petratos co-founded and leads Hiteks Solutions as CEO and guides its efforts on unstructured data analytics and the re-use of clinical information to support decision support, clinical documentation improvement, clinical research, and reimbursement. Dr. Petratos was previously director of clinical decision support and Global Head of Healthcare Data Analytics at Roche, where he oversaw data-driven applications of clinical information management in protocol design, graphical medical review, analysis, reporting, and publications.

Dr. Petratos also conducted Adverse Drug Event detection research at Intermountain Healthcare and the University of Utah Health Sciences Center as part of a National Institutes of Health fellowship with the National Library of Medicine in Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Petratos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell, an MD from Howard, and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and Medical Informatics from the University of Utah.

Senthil K. Nachimuthu, MD, PhD, FAMIA is a strategic/operational expert with about 20 years of experience with the single mission to improve individual and population health. He is experienced in digital health product management with 12+ years of leadership experience and has a formal background in medical informatics, medicine and clinical research.

He is experienced in clinical decision support (predictive analytics/machine learning), clinical terminologies, standards, healthcare data strategy/governance, clinical workflows, usability, epidemiology, and infectious diseases. Self-taught in computer science, with decent hands-on experience. He enjoys designing and working with technology experts to build flexible and extensible systems to handle the variability and nuances in clinical data. He is also an advocate of patient safety and privacy.

Tolmie currently serves as the president and CEO of Source in Baltimore, Maryland, a national healthcare consulting firm providing solutions to hospitals, health systems, physician enterprises, and health care technology companies. Source is unique, not only working with executives to develop plans to address their challenges and opportunities, but also provide real solutions to help address their problems to quickly benefit the organizations. Source offers governance advisory, strategic planning, operational and financial turnaround, strategic partnering, physician alignment and market positioning to healthcare organizations.

Previously, Tolmie was president and CEO of St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Maryland from 2001-09. In this role, he was responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors and Catholic Health Initiatives for establishing and accomplishing the mission, vision, strategic objectives, quality and financial goals.

From 1997-2000, Tolmie served as president and CEO of St. Joseph Regional Health Network in the Lancaster and Reading locations in Pennsylvania. He was responsible for the successful merger between St. Joseph Hospital (Lancaster), St. Joseph Medical Center (Reading) and affiliates, which resulted in one unified entity. The St. Joseph Regional Health Network emerged with a newly developed regional board, consolidated management, and integration of administrative support services. During his tenure, he developed, implemented and served on the board of a regional behavior health venture, which was composed of six acute care facilities with 24-hour service delivery sites and more than 225,000 visits per year.

Mr. Downey joined Claritas Capital in 2020 to help launch Claritas Health Ventures for the purpose of providing health systems the ability to invest in growth-oriented technology and services companies. The value proposition for CHV is two-fold: (1) creating the potential for significant return on investment and (2) offering health systems access to innovative companies/technologies via the Claritas ecosystem.

Having spent over two decades providing services in the healthcare sector, Mr. Downey is also Founder & President of RDX Healthcare. The core mission of RDX is to bring “best in breed” healthcare services/solutions – financial, operational, clinical – to key C-Suite executives of the nation’s leading healthcare systems. Prior to helping launch Claritas Health Ventures, Mr. Downey was a Managing Director at Highland Associates, a Birmingham-based investment consulting firm specializing in healthcare. While at Highland, he created and led the business development platform and opened a Nashville office for the firm. Prior to his work at Highland, Mr. Downey was a Managing Director, Partner and Shareholder at Ponder & Co., a leading healthcare advisory firm. It was during his almost 14 years at Ponder that he developed his extensive network with the nation’s leading healthcare systems.

Throughout his career, Michael’s deployed his Relationship Equity Principle, a unique commercialization, recruiting and execution strategy, supporting investors and management teams. Michael has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to put together customized growth processes that systematically build authority and trust with numerous digital health startups globally.

As the son of Greek immigrants, Michael credits his parents for instilling him with relentless work ethic, grit, and determination. He’s authored numerous articles, a published author of “Getting to the Decision Maker”, and Co-founded Mastermind Unit, a NY based non-profit that fundraises for local Children’s charities. When he’s not “building bridges” within healthcare, you’ll find him spending quality time with his family, and on a soccer pitch as an avid player and coach.
